PANJIM: The third edition of St Joseph Vaz Cup formerly known as Blessed Jose Vaz trophy organized by the John Paul II Foundation for Sports Goa, an Ecclesiastical body of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman will be held on February 8.
The last year’s event had nine teams including the Diocesan priests and seminarians along with other religious congregations present in Goa that had participated in the tournament which was won by the Pilar Fathers.
The foundation in its annual calendar organizes the Compassion Cup for orphanages, the Archbishop’s Trophy for the Parish Youth in association with the Diocesan Youth Centre and the Altar Servers tournament for boys and girls with the Vocation Commission for Diocesan Clergy.
All the participating teams in the tournament for the clergy in the St Joseph Vaz football tournament for all seminaries and formation houses in Goa are requested to confirm the entries for this year’s event which has become a fellowship gathering for the religious along with the Diocesan clergy are requested to send their confirmation to Kennedy D’Silva, Director, John Paul II Foundation for Sports Goa on 9850169370.
