VASCO/ MARGAO: St Joseph Vaz High School, Sancoale and Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim will lock horns in the final of the U-17 girls Subroto Mukherjee football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Regina Mundi ground, on Friday.
St Joseph Vaz scored a narrow 1-0 win over Our Lady of Perpetual Socorro High School, Cortalim. Sheba Das was the lone goal scorer for the winners.
In the second semi-finals, Regina Mundi HS, Chicalim blanked neighbours Navy Children School 2-0. Gracina and Valankha netted a goal each for Regina Mundi.
Meanwhile in the Salcete taluka, Rosary Higher Secondary School and Perpetual Succour Convent High School both of Navelim will clash in the final, at Cuncolim School ground.
In the first semi-finals played at Cuncolim School ground, Rosary HSS defeated Rosary HS, Navelim 3-0. Flany Costa scored a brace in the 30th & 45th minutes. Earlier, Valany Rocha gave the lead to Rosary HSS in the 15th minute.
In the second semis, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Convent HS defeated Manovikas English High School by a solitary goal which was scored by Reeva Fernandes in the 35th minute.
