PANJIM: St. Savio SC Calangute scored a hard fought 3-2 win over UC Telaulim in the Goa Football Association (GFA) GENO First Division League, in association with Jhoncy Restaurant Benaulim, played at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
The game began on a positive front as both teams went out on full attack. Sanket Jolkar’s fine shot made it 1-0 in favour of the Calangute side in the 18th minute.
But their joy was shortlived as Telaulim club equalised in the 23rd minute through Mabel Miranda. Both teams headed into the half with levelled scores.
Upon resumption of the second half, Sanket Jotkar completed his hat-trick with two goals in the 59th and 67th minutes.
The Telaulim side managed to pull a goal back in the additional time but it was too late as St. Savio SC registered their straight second win in the campaign.
At Sirsaim ground, Sesa FC registered a comfortable 4-1 win over Curtorim Gymkhana.
Rovon Pereira’s strike into the nets opened the scoring for the game in the 33rd minute as the goal separated the teams at half time.
In the second half, Sesa FA came out strong and netted another in the 46th minute through Kunal Salgaocar as he went on to complete his hat-trick in the game with fine set pieces in the 85th and 90+4 minutes.
The south Goan side managed to pull one goal down in the 90th minute through Nelson Fernandes.
