PANJIM: Stewart Demello scored 10 as he starred in Dempo SC 15-0 victory over Eagles SC in the GFA U-16 League match, played at Ella ground, Old Goa, on Friday.
Dempo SC opened the account in the 9th minute when Necio Fernandes shot rebounded to Stewart who placed the ball in the net. Stewart then scored in the 14th minute off a good through ball from Vinay Harji.
Two minutes later, Stewart ran past the Eagles SC defence to complete his hat-trick.
Two minutes later, striker Fedrich Fernandes sent in a good back pass to Stewart who finished with easy tap. In the 22nd minute, Stewart Demello again dribbled past several Eagles SC defenders to score his fifth.
Minutes later, Stewart provided an assist to Necio Fernandes who scored in the far corner. Stewart yet again went solo and scored from just outside the box. Dempo SC lead 7-0 at half time.
Post resumption, Stewart dribbled past as many as 4 Eagles players and scored. Two minutes later, Fedrich Fernandes assisted Stewart who scored from hand shaking distance.
Just a minute later, Stewart again scored a stunner from just outside the box.
Fedrich Fernandes also added his name on the score sheet in the 58th minute when he scored an easy tap in.
Substitute Velanco Rodrigues scored in the 61st minute after dribbling past the defenders on the line.
Yet again, Dempo SC substitution paid off in the 70th minute as sub Ashok Chetri scored from a rebound shot by Saish Bagkar.
Velanco Rodrigues scored his brace in the 73rd minute off a corner kick delivered by Necio Fernandes.
In the dying minute of the match, Dempo’s Ashok Chetri made no mistake to put the ball in the net.
