MARGAO: SWC Zaino won a six-goal thriller, defeating Guirdolim Club 4-2 in the GFA Second Division League at Nagoa ground, on Friday.
SWC Zaino led 1-0 at the break through Pradeep Gaonkar goal.
At the hour mark, Presley Pinto ensured his team gets on level terms scoring the equaliser for Guirdolim.
SWC Zaino were a totally transformed side in the final quarter of the game. Sheldon Pinto gave them the lead in the 70th minute before Pradeep Gaonkar scored twice to complete the hattrick for Zaino. In the 90th minute, Guirdolim pulled another goal back through Presly Pinto, who completed his brace.
At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, Carmel Sports Club trounced Varca Sports Club 9-1.
Enoch Pires opened the scoring for Carmel SC in the 3rd minute while Larryl Mascarenhas doubled the account in the 10th minute. Varca SC struggled to deal with Carmel’s Enoch, who was simply unstoppable. Enoch then scored more three times before Osborn Fernandes and Clemente scored to take the tally to seven goals. Reagan Araujo pulled a goal back for Varca just before the breather.
In the second half, Carmel scored two more through Enoch and Velington Almeida to take the final score to 9-1.
