PANJIM: Tanisi Kirtani of BPS won the double crown in cadet and sub-junior girls in All-Goa major ranking table tennis tournament organized by BPS Sports Club at BPS hall, Margao, Saturday. She lost narrowly in the sub-junior and ladies categories.
Diljeet Velingkar bt Agnelo Naik 11-8, 11-4, 11-3, 12-10 to clinch the men’s title while Divya D’Mello bt Tanisi Kirtani 11-8, 11-4, 11-3, 12-10 to win the ladies crown.
Results — Mini cadet girls: Sneha Rane bt Shanisha Shetye 11-5, 12-16, 11-6. Mini cadet boys: Nagesh Verenkar (BPS) bt Shantesh Mapshekar 6-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-8. Former Chief Minster Digambar Kamat was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour Vero Nunes, president of Goa Table Tennis Association.
Earlier, Prasad Chitnis, president of BPS Sports Club welcomed. Santosh George, vice-president of BPS Sports Club proposed the vote of thanks.
