RAIA: Nerul Sports Club emerged victorious against Sporting Club Davorlim with a nail-biting scoreline of 1-0 and entered the semi-finals of inter-village football tournament at Dando ground, Benaulim, Sunday. There was no score at half time.
It was Nerul’s goalkeeper Siddesh Morji who shone, making exceptional saves to keep his team in the contest.
The resilient defensive efforts led by William, thwarted Nerul’s attempts to find the net.
However, fate took a surprising turn when Davorlim suffered an unfortunate setback, with Prince Figueredo inadvertently scoring an own goal in the dying moments.
