United Club of Benaulim were leading 1-0 at half time. Benaulim dominated the proceedings in the first quarter and opened the scoring in the 29th minute with Joel Fernandes’ rasping shot which crushed straight into the rival nylon off a connect by Chunkay Kalekar. Chinchinim Villagers tried hard to equalise but Ashley Rebello’s powerless shot was blocked by Benaulim defence after receiving a pass from Kevin Fernandes.
Crossing over, United Club of Benaulim doubled the score in the 40th minute through Sunny Fernandes deft placement shot off a pass by Kevin.
Benaulim increased their tally when Chunkavy Kalekar’s grounder sailed into the rival goal off an assist by Sunny Fernandes.
In the last quarter of the match, Union of Chinchinim Villagers strikers were not on target and lacked ball control.
