UC Telaulim, Panjim Footballers share spoils

Good goalkeeping from either sides keep the score intact; Salgaocar Juniors edge past Goa Velha 2-1

NAVELIM: UC Telaulim and Panjim Footballers played out a goalless draw in the GFA First Division League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim on Monday.
Panjim Footballers fielded U-20 players against an experienced UC Telaulim team with Alston Camotio leading the attack for Panjim.
While Telaulil Coach Alusio Fernandes fielded Clinton Niasso upfront and former Sesa and Dempo SC keeper Ozen Silva in the goal.
Panjim Footballers looked dangerous early in the game and had the first shot at the rival goal in the third minute when Alston Camotio dribbled past couple of rival defenders with ease but his goal bound shot was saved by Ozen.
At the other end, Clinton Niasso missed a golden opportunity when Anil Shivolkar set the striker free at goal, but the former’s weak effort was blocked by the Panjim defender Alton Vaz.
The Panjim team were denied a goal by the cross bar when Alson Camotio’s effort at the goal came off the post back into the play. 
Crossing ends, both teams showed the urgency to break the deadlock but both keepers were equal to the task. 
Meklon Colaco, striker of Telaulim, fired from close range but Panjim keeper Akshat Hadkonkar brilliantly saved it in the 49th minute.
Rosary College, Navelim, U- 20 player Anil Shivolkar was instrumental for Telaulim in all departments. Anil’s powerful strike was fisted away for a corner by Panjim keeper in the 65th minute.
Panjim’’s Joel Colaco header hit the Telaulim crossbar and went out of play.
Substitute Snedan Rodrigues of Panjim sent in a through ball to Perryson Fernandes in Telaulim box, but the onrushing rival keeper Ozen saved it in the 69th minute.
In another match at Ambelim ground, Salgaocar FC (Jrs) defeated Goa Velha SC 2-1.Stephen Satorkar opened the scoring for Salgaocar FC in the 18th minute, while Joseph equalised for Goa Velha in the 53rd minute.
Ronaldo Oliveira scored the match winner for Salgaocar FC in the in the 56th minute to make it 2-1.
