MAPUSA: United Ucassaim SCC continued their unbeaten run as they registered a hard fought 1-0 win over St Sebastian SC, Mapusa, in the GFA’s Division III League Bardez Zone match played at Moira ground, on Friday.
The all-important match winning goal for the winners was scored by Rohit Harijan in the 32nd minute of play with a neat placement, 1-0.
In another match, Sai Avtar SC cruised to a commanding 5-0 victory over FC Siolim at the Mandrem panchayat ground.
Rohit Kamble starred with a brace, while teammates Rohit Parsekar, Ulhas Agarwadekar and Tanay Malsekar each added a goal to seal the win.
The match saw Sai Avtar SC dominate the midfield early on, with their efforts rewarded in the 23rd minute when Rohit tapped in the opener.
Just two minutes later, Rohit doubled the lead with a powerful strike, setting the tone for the remainder of the match.
Kamble further extended Sai Avtar SC’s advantage in the 28th minute, securing his second goal of the day.
As the first half drew to a close, Ulhas Agarwadekar struck in the added time, giving Sai Avtar SC a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.
Despite FC Siolim’s efforts to break through in the second half, Sai Avtar SC’s defence held strong.
Tanay Malsekar added the final touch in the 60th minute, cementing the 5-0 scoreline.
