Uttarakhand National Games team in Goa

PANJIM: A 3-member delegation led by Niraj Gupta, Joint CEO of Uttarakand 38th National Games to be held in 2024 met with several SAG dignitaries to apprise about their preparations as well as to learn about the preparations with the hosting of 37th National Games to be held in Goa.

They met with Dr Geeta Nagvenkar, SAG’s Executive Director and Joint CEO, National Games and Dr Sandeep Warlikar, Nodal Officer to Sports Minister, in-charge National Games Secretariat and Coordinator National Games Secretariat.

“We presented the details for hosting the 38th Nat Games in Uttarakhand since our brochure is ready, having started our work two years ago. Everything is almost ready and all works have been nearly completed,” stated Niraj.

“We got all the information from the SAG authorities about the forthcoming Games in Goa. We also met with Gurudatt Bhakta, the GOA secretary,” added Niraj.

An initial budget of Rs 10 crore is expected to be disbursed  to the Uttarakhand associations for the coaching camps soon. The details of venues, training facilities, accomodation, sample of accreditation cards is ready and the portal is expected to be thrown open later and closed by August 2024. They have provided even the finer details with more than a year to go, it is learnt.

While the Uttarakhand government has already managed the macromanagement, empowering the team members providing autonomy, ownership and engagement of the teams, they will now gradually resort to micromanagement to enable them to prioritise the short-term details with micromanagers being output oriented.
