QUITULA: Vagator Parish Youth beat Siolim Sodiem 2-0 in the Second Division League organised by Goa Football Association, held at Quitula ground, on Tuesday.
It took the Vagator side just twelve minutes to open the score line as Stepelton Fernandes placed his shot behind the nets to give his team an early lead.
As the game progressed, Sanket Gaunkar and Daued Maldar of the Vagator side were booked with yellow cards by the referee in the first half for foul challenges onto the opposition. The early goal separated both teams at half time.
Post resumption, both teams created an equal number of chances but the defence of both teams stood strong and cancelled out each other’s attacks.
As the final whistle drew near, Vagator PY added another in the additional time as Eltrin Viegas’ perfect shot landed in the nets to enable the Vagator side finish on top at the end.
