MERCES: Vasco Veterans got the better of Chinchinim Veterans 5-3 in the 50 and above Pogo Boys Cup, at Our Lady of Merces church ground, on Wednesday.
Chinchinim’s Mario Soares scored from a distance to open the account.
Vincent soon made it all square for Vasco.
Jerry gave Chinchinim the lead once again to make it 2-1.
Santan Furtado equalised for Vasco to make it 2-2 at the break.
After the break, Vasco Veterans were all guns blazing and scored through Santan Furtado who scored two more goals to complete his hat-trick.
Mario Soares added another goal to his name to make it 4-3 in favour of Vasco.
Santan Furtado scored yet another goal to take the game out Chinchinim Veterans’ reach and take the final score-line to 5-3.
Chinchinim Veterans tried hard to get back into the game but the Vasco defence stood strong with Vincent Colaco marshalling the defence-line.
Vasco Veterans will now meet Bardez Veterans in the final on August 24
