PANJIM: Vasco Veterans defeated Nuvem Veterans 7-6 via tie breaker to move into the final of the 7th All Goa Panjim Veterans soccer tournament, at Taleigao ground, on Sunday.
Both the teams were tied goalless at full time.
In the 25th minute, Nelson Landez power-packed short brought up a goal-line save by the Nuvem keeper.
Vasco Veterans attacked through Vishant Perdnekar but the former MPT player shot went wide.
Sheikh Niazi played a stellar role in Vasco Veterans defence.
Vasco’s Salvador Carvalho missed an easy sitter.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Vishant Pednekar, Ramesh Palkar, Nelson Landez, Agostinho Mesqueita, Anant Adkonkar, Uday Naik & Wilson Fernandes scored for Vasco Veterans while Wilson Fernandes, Francisco Colaco, Baptisto Colaco, Jacinto Abranches, Milagres Fernandes and Remidios Fernandes scored for Nuvem Veterans.
Wilson Fernandes of Nuvem Veterans was awarded the man-of-the-match.
