PANJIM: Verna Sports Club proved their prowess in the tie-breaker to overcome St Anthony Sports Club, Assolda 7-6 to advance in 4th Our Lady of Fatima Cup, played at Dicarpale ground, Wednesday.
There was no score at the end of regulation time. St Anthony Sports Club made the first move to open an account in the 7th minute through Socorro Fernandes but rival goalkeeper saved his excellent shot.
Verna Sports Club also had their chance to score in the 53rd minute but Assolda goalkeeper saved a powerful shot from Albert Antao.
In the tie-breaker, Verna scored through Riswen Fernandes, Vijay Rego, Santano Rego, Ajay Satorker, Manuel Minis, Matiso Abranches and Alberto Antao while St Anthony netted through Joseph Fernandes, Seby Fernandes, Fransico Fernandes, Anthony Fernandes, Ivon Vaz and Agnes Vaz.
