VELSAO: Virdikar Strikers and Baptista Warriors entered the semi-finals of the St Peter and Paul Cup, a beach football tournament, organised by Velsao Dando Boys, at Velsao beach on Saturday.
In the first quarter-finals, Virdikar Strikers defeated Pogba Boys 2-1 via the penalty shootout while the Baptista Brothers also prevailed in the shootout with a 2-0 win over Pedda Boys.
Earlier, in the Round 2 of Group A, Virdikar Strikers defeated Killer Boys 5-4 via tie-breaker while Baptista Brothers also won a shootout against Kantem Boys 4-3.
Meanwhile in the Group B, Sancoale scored a fluent 3-0 win over St Peter and Paul. Tuboug Boys also registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Velsao.
In another crunch tie, Ritu Boys put up a great fight getting past the challenge thrown by Baina side with a 2-1 win.
