Vasco police bust sex racket; nab man, rescue two girls

VASCO: Vasco police busted a sex racket and rescued two girls who were procured from Mumbai for sex trade, on Friday evening. Police also arrested a person caught read handed delivering the girls for sex trade, while the main agent of the racket is still at large.

According to Vasco Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo, on specific information about sex racket, a raid was conducted at Dabolim on Thursday evening. “With the help of a decoy customer a deal to supply two girls for Rs 25,000 was finalised. Thus as per the plan raid was then conducted and one Javeed Gafoor Patel (33), a resident of Shrioda, was caught red-handed while delivering two girls,” Raposo said.
Raposo said that one of the victim girls is a native of Mumbai and other is a native of West Bengal and both of them had been brought down to Goa by the accused, recently.
Presently, he said, the victim girls were residing at Colva from where they were brought to Dabolim by Javeed in his car to deliver them to the decoy customer. 
Raposo informed that the victim girls were interrogated in the presence of an NGO wherein one of the girls disclosed that she was promised a payment of Rs 40,000 for 10 days with the condition to entertain eight customers per day, similarly other girl was promised Rs 35,000 for 10 days with similar conditions.
Meanwhile, after interrogation and medical examination of the victim girls, they were lodged at the protective home in Merces. 
The accuse Javeed is placed under arrest under Section 370 read with 34 of IPC and section 4, 5 and 7 of Immoral Traffic (prevention) Act 1956. 
Similarly, police is on a lookout for another accused person namely Sameer who is the main agent and is involved in the sex racket along with the Javeed. 
Police have attached the car of the accused as well as his two cell phone sets. Police have obtained four days of remand of the accused person and further investigation is in progress. This is second such case of prostitution racket busted by Vasco police in the last 25 days.
