PANJIM: Around 100 HSSC students who aspire to get admission to professional courses in Goa gathered in front of the Secretariat complex on Tuesday to protest against the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for seeking admission forms prior to NEET results.
However, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured students saying he would look into the matter and that he would have to check the legal implications, as those who had applied within the stipulated time could also complain.
“You have to understand that there are around 2000 people who have applied within the due time,” Parrikar said speaking to reporters.
“Subject to double-confirmation, if someone says that I did not know, I do not agree with it if these figures are right. However, giving them an opportunity is another issue which may have legal implications, as the number of people who are saying ‘take our forms’ could be less than 100, whereas around 1900 students had applied under B2, medical exam,” he said.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that DTE had asked all students to submit their forms including those who were awaiting NEET results, after which they were asked to update their scores.
