MARGAO: The Maina-Curtorim police arrested three persons, all aged 19 years, on charges of waylaying and robbing people of their cash and mobiles.
Charles D’Silva of Amona Paroda, Quepem, Ramson D’Costa of Avadem, Paroda and Sanifa Ligorio of Tilamol, Quepem were arrested under section 394 of IPC on late Friday evening by the Maina-Curtorim police. They have been remanded to four days police custody.
Maina-Curtorim police acted swiftly on a complaint filed by Mohanlal Bairam Prasad Khasab, a Bihar native residing at Sao Jose de Areal who is involved in the business of selling old newspapers.
He stated that three youth who came on motorbikes attacked his collection boy Ashok Shah on Thursday noon when he was on his way on a cycle in the village.
The boy managed to note down the registration number of one of the motorbikes used by the accused which helped police to arrest the three.
