RAIA: Fr Agnel YC, Paroda advanced to the semi-finals of the 25th all-Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side inter-village football tournament by defeating Sporting Club of Davorlim, 8-7, via the tie-breaker, organised by Sirlim Sports Club and played at the Chinchinim Church ground.
The match saw both teams primarily battling in the midfield. In the 12th minute, Paroda’s Clifton Fernandes hit the side post. Davorlim took the lead in the 16th minute with a goal by Milton Colaco. Paroda’s Sanju Trikonni received a yellow card in the 18th minute for deliberately pulling an opponent. Selton Fernandes equalised for Paroda from a well-measured cross by Melson, bringing the score to 1-1 at halftime.

In the tie-breaker, successful penalty takers for Fr Agnel YC, Paroda were Kachan, Omkar, Drenzil, Salvin, Melvino, Pravesh, and Selton. For Davorlim, successful penalties were taken by Wilman, Aren, Edmund, Mickey, Francisco, and Peidade.
