Incident: Ponda Police had arrested Joby John, Rajendran Sadashivaran and his wife, Annie, in connection with a series of theft cases in Ponda. Police said Annie is owner of the car which was earlier attached by Ponda Police.
Police suspected that the car was used by the accused in the offences. According to police, Annie and Rajendran have criminal background and are wanted in several theft cases registered against them in Bangalore. Annie has seven cases, while her husband Rajendran has 10 cases.
Status of investigation: Police recovered majority of the stolen goods from the accused. Police also recovered cash of Rs 15,000 and two laptops.
Police informed that Rs 15,000 is part of the stolen amount from a car prior to arrest of the accused.
