PANJIM: The North Goa District Collector Ajit Roy has received reports from various North Goa Police Inspectors (PIs) and has issued notices regarding abandoned and unattended vehicles lying in the jurisdiction of these police stations.
The Collector said that he received reports from the PIs of Calangute PS, Anjuna PS, Bicholim PS, Agassaim PS, Pernem PS, Mapusa PS and Old Goa PS that have the detailed list of all such vehicles.
Under Section 26 of the Indian Police Act 1861, the Collector has called upon all the persons interested in the said vehicles to submit their claims (if any) to the Office of the Deputy Collector & Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Panjim within a period of six months from the date of publication of this proclamation.
The Collector added that if no objections/claims are received within the stipulated time, the vehicles will be forfeited in favour of the State Government and shall be disposed by public auction as provided under the law and no further claims will be entertained from anyone and the proceeds will be forfeited to the Government.
The list of all identified vehicles is available with the office of the Panjim Deputy Collector and Sub Divisional Magistrate.
