PANJIM: Goa qualified for the 2nd edition of Khelo India Youth Games and will participate with a strong contingent of 57 athletes/ 17 officials across 6 disciplines namely athletics, boxing, judo, shooting, swimming and football at which will be held at the Balewadi Sports complex, Pune from January 9 to 20.
In the 1st edition of the Khelo India Games 2018, Goa qualified and participated in 5 disciplines namely Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Swimming, Judo, winning 8 medals overall. A gold, four silver, two bronze (swimming) and a bronze in boxing.
This time around it’s a different scenario with expectations galore from the football team getting to participate and so with swimming, boxing , athletics, judo and shooting as well for the athletes who are determined in putting up formidable performances and winning a lot of medals in this edition.
The Goa contingent was handed over the Kit/ sports material and encouraged with positive wishes and advice by SAG Executive Director V.M. Prabhudesai, Satyawan Talwedkar Joint Director (Accounts/ Director Administration) SAG, at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao Plateau along with Monica Lobo e Dourado Nodal Officer Khelo India .
