MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai on Sunday alleged that due to the mismanagement, misplaced priorities and disastrous leadership of the BJP government the State is heading towards a COVID disaster.
He termed that five COVID deaths within 48 hours in Goa is shocking.

“We have been hitting centuries as far as cases are concerned. Testing has lowered. The COVID infection of Goa is more than the national average and it is a cause for concern. Goa Forward Party contends that Goa is heading towards COVID disaster mainly because of the mismanagement, misplaced priorities and disastrous leadership of the BJP government” he alleged.
“The bureaucrats handling the COVID-19 pandemic battle in Goa are triumphantly announcing figures in the evening. These figures should be taken not with a pinch, but with a bucket of salt,” he charged.
“The figures of cured persons which they are revealing are notorious and have no details of the severity of the infection they had. The government has to give a white paper within 48 hours on how many people they have tested and how many people get cured in this manner without testing. To make the figures look good the government has continued its fudging figures,” Vijai alleged.
“The government which advertised proudly about its green status has completely failed. Villages are going into unofficial lockdowns and it is a clear vote of no confidence against this government. The government has to introspect and get into course correction. Leave everything and go after the COVID-19. Focus all your resources human as well as material on the COVID19 pandemic,” he advised.
“The Chief Minister was taking credit for making Goa a green State. Now, the deaths which have occurred within 48 hours, who is going to take the responsibility for that? The future of Goa is bleak,” he added.
