The order was passed on October 30 by Justice V R Kingaonkar and expert member Ajay Desphande in connection with the petition filed against the road by the Colva Civic and Consumer Forum (CCCF).
“Considering the site inspection report dated May 20, 2015, by way of ad-interim relief and also in view of the affidavit of the Colva panchayat secretary, it appears that there is a need to protect the land in question. Therefore, we direct that the status-quo shall not be changed, and if the kachcha road is created, it shall be closed down by bulldozing the area and removal of the earth/soil with the help of a JCB machine, so that the area can be used for recreation purpose, as and when needed for plantation or for remedial purpose,” reads the order.
They also remarked that sufficient time was granted to the newly added parties to file the reply-affidavit.
