Story: Jane (Valencia) is happily married to Ryan (Caziton de Cacora). But when Jane’s mother, Lucy (Ofelia),moves in with the couple, all hell breaks loose
Review:
After marrying Ryan, Jane seems to settle in well in her new role, as a loving wife and even a compassionate sister-in-law to the ailing Swizel (Roma). But when Jane’s mother makes an entry and starts living with the family, everything goes for a toss. A dark could of exploitation, hatred and mess looms over everyone. Noting Ryan’s deep affection for his sick sister, Lucy instigates her daughter and takes advantage of every opportunity that comes their way.
There’s a chance of a promotion at work for Ryan.He informs Jane that he has to make a business trip to Singapore for training. There’s excitement all around. He invites his wife and sister to join him for the company-sponsored trip. But Lucy gets upset and works out a wicked plan wherein Swizel will show reluctance to join the couple.
The mother-in-law wins the game and gets the chance to join Ryan and Jane for a free trip to Singapore. But will she succeed in her wicked plans? What is the next game plan Lucy works upon to hurt Swizel, who is showered with continuous care and affection by her brother.
Saby de Divar’s tiatr ‘He Amche Kaide’ focuses on rules and regulations prevailing in the family and the consequences that follow when changes are brought about as per the whims and fancies of some members. The second half focuses on the demands made by the powers to be in the sale of property and pressure laid to win. Ultimately, who is the winner and who is the loser? The unexpected twists and turns in one or two scenes make the story interesting and appealing.
Caziton de Cacora has displayed ample talent in his performance. He has been ably supported by Roma and Valencia, but both the sisters in two different roles and moods. Ofelia is expressive as the cruel mother-in-law and the dress code suits accordingly. Evaristo de Arambol appears sober and suits his role well. Anil as the non-Goan stands out in his unique character. Deepak Chari as the CM wins audience appeal, while Vishal as Sanjay is robust and delivers his dialogues confidently.
Comic interludes by Pitush, Agnelo, Anthony and —- were entertaining, although some jokes looked outdated. New and fresh material could have been introduced for more entertainment and laughter.
In the category of songs, there are several songs which carry good messages, but political solos by Olga and Saby de Divar, duets by Olga and Saby, Anil and Olga, besides a trio by Caziton, Agnelo and Saby and one concluding quartet in the cemetery by Evaristo, Agnelo, Pitush and Saby de Divar along with their female partners receive encores.
