MARGAO: Sirvodem Sports Club eked out Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem 1-0 in the Salcete Zone GFA Under-16 football league at Quepem Sports Complex, on Friday.
In an evenly poised encounter, both the teams displayed an attacking brand of soccer and kept the crowds on their toes. Midway into the first half, Sirvodem Sports Club asserted their midfield supremacy but could not score due to inept shooting by their forwards.
Crossing over, Sirvodem Sports Club showed urgency and troubled the rival defence with sharp raids .The all important goal came off the boots of striker Ganesh Harrijan.
Ladson tricks for Curtorim Gymkhana
At Dramapur ground, a hat-trick by Ladson Fernandes helped Curtorim Gymkhana rout Union of Chinchinim Villagers 6-0.
Curtorim Gymkhana dominated the entire proceedings and kept their opponents on the back foot throughout the match.
Mackenzie Fernandes opened the flood gates in the very 4th minute. Ladson Fernandes who was in the thick of action struck thrice in the 9th, 23rd and 26th minute to complete his hat trick. Jovan Dias and Nezio Dias added to the score line in the second half. Mackenzie Fernandes was showed a yellow card for a vicious tackle on the rival goalkeeper late on.

At Sinquetim ground, Navelim CRSC defeated Navelim Villagers Union 2-1.
CRSC held the upper hand in the opening sessions and Keegan Moraes put CRSC into the lead in the 27th minute. Spurred by the early success, CRSC intensified their forays but could not add to their tally as their forwards muffed golden opportunities.
In the second half, CRSC slackened their pace and allowed their opponents to launch a barrage of attacks. Royden Pires neutralized the lead in the 54th minute. Stunned by the equalizer, CRSC went all out and Myron Vaz found the match winner in the 80th minute.
