MARGAO: United Sports Club Orlim and Sirvodem Sports Club played a 2-2 draw in the Goa Football Association U-14 league match played at Ambelim ground, on Saturday.
Both the teams started the match on equal footing. However, it was Sirvodem FC who took the lead in the 15th minute through Mark Rodrigues.
Down by a goal, Orlim regrouped quickly and soon found the equalising goal in the 17th minute through Asher Rodrigues. The teams were tied 1-1 at the break.
Crossing over, Sirvodem FC started the match on an attacking note and took the lead once again through Mark Rodrigues. But the Orlim side weren’t ready to give in and kept pressing in the hunt for the equaliser. The efforts were finally paid off late in the game when Sydroy Gama slotted home from close range to steal a point.
In another match at Artificial Turf ground, Fatorda, Salcete Football Club registered a fluent 2-0 win over Young Strikers Benaulim.
Both the goals were scored in the first half through Sanvesh Palkar and Aaron Figueredo.
Meanwhile, at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Ave Maria AWC thumped SCC Loutolim 9-2.
Austin Delroy D’Silva and Mo Shahil scored a hat-trick each and were outstanding players for the winners.
The duo tormented the rival defence and not only scored but also created chances for their side. Vishal Das scored two while Rosmen Fernandes netted a goal each for the winners. For the losing side, Shaun Dias and Sadamshiv Gavalkar reduced the margin.
