UTORDA: Salgaocar FC downed Dempo Sports Club by 3-1 to collect full points in the U-18 AIFF league football match played at SAG ground, Utorda on Saturday.
Salgaocar FC led 2-0 at the breather.
For Salgaocar SC, Chaitan Komarpant scored a brace while Valentinho Nazareth scored a goal.
For Dempo SC Aaron Alvares reduced the margin.
Salgaocar FC stated the match with attacks from both the flanks and missed scoring chances at the start of the match through Fhezer Gomes.
Later, Dempo’s Kimran Fernandes also had an opportunity to give his team a lead but fumbled at the last juncture.
Chaitan after his attempt was saved by Dempo SC keeper Wellyster Mendes, gave the lead to Salgaocar FC in the 16th minute.
Dempo created chances and had an opportunity to level the terms but Aaron Alvares’ grounder was saved by Salgaocar keeper Utkarsh Deshpande.
Salgaocar FC doubled the lead in the 35th minute through Valentinho Nazareth.
Dempo were unlucky when Kimran Fernandes and Desmond Fernandes’ attempt were blocked by defenders of Salgaocar FC.
Later, Kimran missed a sitter off a pass from substitute Norman Dias.
Salgaocar FC increased their lead in the 70th minute through a spot kick by Chaitan Komarpant. Dempo SC reduced the margin through Aaron Alvares.
