PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club and Salgaocar Football Club played out a 1-1 draw in the Goa Football Association U-18 League match played at Ella ground, Old Goa, on Saturday.
Playing at their fortress. Dempo SC started on a cautious note against a spirited Salgaocar FC who were ready for the challenge.
Dempo’s Osrick and Kidron Fernandes played well in the first session while Salgaocar were the first to strike in the 36th minute through Philip Pauzais
. Salgaocar FC enjoyed better ball possession as they played transitional play troubling Dempo SC. Salgaocar FC led 1-0 at the break.
Crossing over, Dempo SC had to put up a better display to match their opponents and the half time pep talk somehow seemed to revitalised the team wherein they were quick on their attack and taking advantage of such situation the Golden Eagles restored parity in the 51st minute through Myron Ferrao.
With scores even, both sides tried their luck but they failed to score as the final score remained 1-1.
