PANJIM: The drug cartel is behind the noise pollution, The sound is only a façade, Political Analyst Trajano D’Mello who has had a long stint in close proximity to Goan politics has revealed.
He questioned how EDMs were given permission where they owed crores of rupees to the government in dues. Will an ordinary Goan get permission without paying fees, he asked.
Retired SP Bossuet Silva said that the court should initiate contempt petitions against authorities concerned who are supposed to monitor sound pollution but fail to do it.
He also narrated how they had stopped a particular club in Arpora which was creating similar disturbances for people through the night and where there was sale of drugs. He stressed the need for honest police officers to uphold law and order.
