VASCO: The Vasco Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo on Saturday informed that Canara Bank officials would soon start reimbursing customers who lost money in the ATM skimming fraud. Several people from Mormugao taluka have lost their hard earn money over a couple of weeks after they fell prey to an ATM skimming fraud.
“In the ATM skimming fraud case, a Romanian national had affixed skimmers at Canara bank ATM at Dabolim and at Vasco. Subsequently, after copying the data the accused had withdrawn cash from different places in Goa and in Delhi. The Canara bank authority has already claimed insurance. The banks customers who fell prey to the fraud are likely to get refund of their cash that was withdrawn by the skimmers,” Raposo said.
