BSNL services in Verna are in a very sorry state of affairs, especially the landline telephone lines.
Telephones lines are disrupted regularly but the bills are issued promptly every month even if the phones are non functional for months. There is only one linesman at the Nuvem exchange which covers the whole of Nuvem and most parts of Verna village. The linesman also complained that that they have not been paid their wages for the last 4-5 months.

The BSNL exchange and their office at Nuvem, opposite Carmel College seems to have shut down permanently as the lone linesman does not respond to any calls on his mobile phone number provided by BSNL.
In a situation like this we have very few options but to ask for disconnection of our telephones. Hopefully BSNL wakes up from their deep slumber and make the system more appealing to their legion of subscribers.
