Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor has announced a major employment initiative for youths in Bihar’s Bankipur constituency, days after securing a significant electoral victory in the seat.
Kishor has called on unemployed young people in Bankipur to submit their CVs as he looks to facilitate job opportunities for around 10,000 youths. The move comes shortly after his victory in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll, where the Jan Suraaj leader defeated the BJP in a constituency that had long been considered a stronghold of the party.

The employment announcement puts jobs and livelihood opportunities at the centre of Kishor’s early agenda as an elected representative. During his political campaign, he had repeatedly highlighted unemployment, migration and the need to create better opportunities for young people within Bihar.
Kishor has previously spoken extensively about employment as one of the key challenges facing the state. The Jan Suraaj leader has argued that young people should not have to leave Bihar in search of work and has proposed measures aimed at creating employment within the state.
His latest initiative in Bankipur is aimed specifically at connecting local youths with employment opportunities. Before the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, he had said that Jan Suraaj would prioritise reducing migration by creating employment opportunities in the state. He had previously spoken about jobs offering monthly earnings in the range of ₹10,000 to ₹15,000.
For Bankipur residents, however, the latest announcement will now be judged by its implementation. Creating employment opportunities for 10,000 youths is a substantial target, and the process of identifying employers, matching candidates with suitable positions and ensuring that opportunities translate into sustainable jobs will be crucial.
Kishor’s call for CVs could be the first step towards that process. It may also provide the Jan Suraaj leadership with a clearer picture of the educational backgrounds, professional skills and employment preferences of young people in the constituency.
The initiative comes as Kishor begins his tenure with a focus on delivering on one of the central promises of his political campaign: employment. His ability to turn the announcement into measurable opportunities for Bankipur’s youth could become an early test of Jan Suraaj’s approach to governance.
