MAPUSA: New Wave Club Boxers from Porvorim stole the show at the one-day Sub-Junior Women boxing tournament, organized by Goa Boxing Association, at Peddem Boxing hall, here, on Sunday.
New Wave Club Boxers climbed their way to the top of the ladder, followed by Rosary High School boxers and St Joseph High School, Arpora.
“We are now working on our Sub-Junior boxers and hope we will be able to groom them and get medals for Goa at the school boxing nationals,” said chief guest MLA Rohan Khaunte, president of Goa Boxing Association.
He also mentioned that Goan boxers had tremendous potential not only to be national champions but also international medalists.
