MARGAO: The infant, which was found abandoned at Chandreshwar Parvat in Gudi has been sent to Matruchaya Ashram, Ponda. The police took the custody of the infant as nobody turned up at Hospicio, Margao and later sent the baby to Matruchaya Ashram, Ponda.
Meanwhile, the police suspect that it may be a case of an unwanted pregnancy of a unmarried woman forcing her to abandon the infant. The information regarding the infant has been sent to all police stations and nursing homes and hospitals have been asked to provide information regarding the same.
