MARGAO: Aiming to resolve the issues pertaining to garbage menace, the Village Panchayat Davorlim has initiated the process for constructing shed for Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The panchayat has also urged the people to cooperate in handling the waste management.
Laying the foundation stone for the MRF shed in the presence of Nuvem MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, and along with other panch members, Sarpanch Herculano Niasso said that the panchayat is very much serious in resolving the garbage issue.

It is pertinent to note that garbage being a major issue in the jurisdiction of the Davorlim panchayat, it was a tough job for the elected members to search for land to erect the MRF shed. The panchayat body was concerned as the garbage menace and no proper waste management had raised its ugly head in the recent years.
“People used to always charge the panchayat body for not doing anything pertaining to waste management, however, the step of erecting the MRF shed is a positive step towards resolving the garbage issue,” said MLA Ulhas Tuenkar.
