if the government fails to clear its stand on the implementation of the VII Pay Commission recommendations to its employees.
This was decided by the Central Working Committee of GGEA, which met on Monday. “The Central Working Committee has resolved to serve 21-day strike notice to the government on November 7 and strike work from November 28 against the government failure to hike the pay scale,” Association president John Nazareth said.“Before that, we have decided to seek Chief Minister’s appointment to know by when the government proposes to implement the commission recommendation. We have set November 4 as the deadline to the government to declare its stand,” Nazareth added.
The president said that from November 8 to 28, GGEA will conduct taluka level protests over the government’s failure. GGEA also welcomed the decision to upgrade Group ‘D’ category employees to Group ‘C’ by granting them a pay scale of Rs 5200-20,200 plus grade pay of Rs 1800 per month. “We are disappointed that the reason is considered as a technical reason for delay in implementation of VII Pay Commission,” Nazareth said.
