MARGAO: Wilred Leisure Sports Club registered a 3-1 win over Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club to storm into the final of all-Goa 33rd Gold Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament, organized by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary ground, Navelim, Thursday. The teams were tied 1-1 at half time.
Wilred surged ahead in the eighth minute through striker Velson Fernandes while Areal equalized in the 20th minute through Shelton Dias.
Post resumption, Wilred Leisure were a transformed side and created many openings and Milagres Fernandes, who was a thorn in the rival defence put his team in front in the 40th minute.
Spurred by the success, Wilred Leisure intensified their forays and pushed their opponents on the back foot. In the 55th minute, Sertorio Monteiro sealed the rival fate to troop out worthy winners.
