In a shocking incident, a dispute over the cost of coconut water escalated into violence as a tourist from Rajasthan was allegedly assaulted with an iron rod by Gorakhnath Gad, the proprietor of a juice centre in Parra. The disagreement arose when the tourist expressed dissatisfaction with the steep Rs 80 price tag on the coconut water.
The verbal exchange between the tourist, identified as Meena, and Gorakhnath Gad quickly took a violent turn, resulting in the tourist sustaining injuries from the alleged assault. Prompt medical attention was sought, leading to the tourist’s transfer to the district hospital for treatment.
Law enforcement swiftly intervened, with the Mapusa police apprehending Gorakhnath Gad. The accused is now facing charges under Sections 504 and 324 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). This regrettable incident underscores the importance of maintaining civility in customer interactions and resorting to peaceful resolutions in cases of disputes.
