PANJIM: Calangute Veterans downed Goa Police Veterans 3-1 in the inaugural match to move ahead in the 1st All-Goa Veterans football tournament organised by Fractures Verem Veterans at the Reis Magos Church ground, on Monday.
Seby Vaz scored the first goal in the 20th minute for Calangute Veterans. Immediately, Goa Police equalised in the 25th minute with the efforts of Mahesh Sawal. Calangute increased the lead through Marcus Carvalho and were leading 2-1 in the first half.
Crossing over, Calangute Veterans netted in the 65th minute through Sebastian Fernandes. The man-of-the-match was awarded to Seby Vaz of Calangute Veterans.
