PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday handed over the Goan soil, collected from all parts of Goa to be contributed in construction of new Parliament, to Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy at New Delhi.
After handing the Goan soil, Sawant tweeted, “The New Parliament shall truly represent Indian ethos.”
It may be recalled that Sawant had performed ‘Bhoomi Pooja of Goan soil’ to send it for the Central Vista Re-development Project for the new Parliament Building in New Delhi.
Later, the Chief Minister called on President of India, Draupadi Murmu and congratulated her on behalf of the people of Goa on winning the Presidential election and assuming the office of the President.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister will attend the Niti Aayog’s seventh governing council meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi on Sunday.
The meeting is likely to discuss various issues including implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) and crop diversification.
The Chief Minister is accompanied by Chief Secretary PK Goel.
