Faldesai’s nephew? Forum to cops

PANJIM: “Thanking” the Margao police inspector for filing an FIR against 100 unknown people, the Goa RTI Forum whose meeting was disrupted by rowdy elements allegedly linked to the mining industry, has sent a follow up complaint to the police asking whether they had booked BJP MLA Subhash Faldesai nephew for the incident.
“We presume that you have initiated necessary steps to book nephew of MLA Subhash Faldesai, photo of which is submitted to you, was printed in our complaint letter (Same photo is attached herewith person marked with red arrow,” states the complaint.
The Goa RTI Forum had filed a police complaint some days after the incident alleging that the BJP MLA’s nephew was among those who allegedly masterminded the incident, of gheraoing RTI activists.
“From the photographs put up on various Goa Forums, on the social networking site as also from reports in the local newspapers, the agitation seemed to be led by the nephew of sitting MLA Subhash Faldesai, who belongs to the ruling BJP party,” the Goa RTI Forum said in its complaint to the Margao police.

Secretary of the forum, thanks the police “for filing an FIR against 100 unidentified persons for the incidence that happened on Saturday 2 March 2013 in and around CD Blue chip building Pajifond, Margoa,” adding, “We presume that you have identified bus owners of the buses and other vehicles which transported the mob at the incident spot on 2 March 2013 and who had hired those vehicles to transport the mob at incidence spot.”
On March 2, more than a hundred people tried to disrupt the meeting held to discuss the Justice M B Shah Commission of Inquiry report on illegal mining.
