“The BJP is going to the polls based on its performance of the party government in the last three years. Issues such as Ghar Wapsi which has raised its ugly head in states such as Uttar Pradesh will not have any bearing in Goa. There is no issue of Ghar Wapsi in Goa. We are going to the people on the basis of our government’s performance in the state”, Tendulkar said, while exuding confidence that the BJP backed candidates will rule both the Zilla Panchayats.
Replying to a question, the BJP chief said the decision to have the ZP elections on party lines was taken by the government based on the opinion of the party MLAs. “We have not taken any decision so far to also hold the Panchayat and Municipal polls on party lines”, he said.
