MARGAO: Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem shunted host Chandor Club 6-5 via tie-breaker to romp into the finals of 40th all-Goa Chandor Seamen Trophy inter-village football tournament organized by Chandor Club, at Chandor ground, Friday. All the goals came in the first half.

The teams started the game on the offensive note and kept the crowd guessing.

Backed by the home crowd, Chandor Club intensified their forays and broke the deadlock in the 9th minute when striker Melroy Moura slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.

However, their joy was short-lived and three minutes later when striker Benny Olveiro found the equalizer for Guardian Angel Sports Club when he blasted home.

Post resumption, the teams adopted an attacking mode and intensified their attacks but defenders made brilliant tackles and averted the danger. At the fag end, the teams survived some tense moments.

With the regulation time ending in a 1-1 draw, the tie-breaker was enforced wherein Guardian Angel came out victorious.

Guardian Angel scored through Socorro Colaco, Russel Vaz, Ligorio Silva, Marcus D’Costa, and Akshay D’Costa while Moses D’Sa, Ivan Pinto, Melroy Moura and Mecol Fernandes were on target for Chandor Club.
