Heavy rains and strong winds on Thursday caused a massive old banyan tree to collapse at Apewal, Curti-Ponda, bringing down a coconut tree and an electricity pole along with it. The incident completely blocked the road, disrupting traffic in the area.
Ponda Fire personnel responded promptly, working quickly to clear the fallen trees and debris. Their efforts ensured that vehicular movement was restored within a few hours.
