Elect corrupt politicians at your own risk!

This has reference to the editorial “Parsekar gives Parrikar a lesson in politics“ (Herald Jul 30,2015). I beg to differ. What option did Parsekar or even Parrikar if he was the CM have? The bribe giver has not only admitted in a US court but has even paid a fine. So the government was left with no option but to make the best of a bad situation play act the zero tolerance to corruption!
The situation is bad for even the BJP because it continues to deal with Berger with regards to Mopa. Does the government think the public is naïve to think that Berger was corrupt when it came to JICA project and is above board when it comes to other projects. I don’t see how this has given the BJP oxygen.
Everyone knew that the Congress was corrupt and that’s why they were voted out . The only plus point for the ruling party is that it has a new set of Damocles swords hanging over the head of two additional Congress men or ex-Congressman and thus insure their silence inside and outside the assembly!
The main sufferers are the people who have voted for the corrupt as their voices will not be heard through their MLA as his position/freedom to speak has been compromised. Lesson to the people do not vote for a corrupt candidate as he is even useless in the opposition!
