CANACONA, JULY 21
With four coastal panchayats and the Canacona Municipal Council having filed their affidavits in the high court on the CRZ violations, the stage is set to demolish 165 structures in Canacona taluka.
As per the affidavits filed in the high court by concerned local bodies, the number of structures identified for demolitions are Canacona Municipal Council (42), Poinguinim (40), Loliem-Polem (34), Agonda (30) and Khola (19).
It was learnt that after the process of filing affidavits in the high court is over, it is just a matter of time before the local bodies, some of which have been already served with demolition notices, complete the remaining formalities of razing down the identified structures.
However, all eyes are set on the government to intervene in saving many these structures.
While 165 structures are within the first 200 mtrs from HTL, more people on shores are likely to come under CRZ scanner once the ongoing procedure was over. More affidavits of alleged CRZ violations from 200-500 mtrs would be filed in the high court, informed a source.
