MARGAO: Two thefts were reported in a running train one near Margao Railway Station and second near Karmali Railway Station and unknown accused persons committed theft of gold ornaments and other valuables worth around Rs 4 lakh.

According to the Konkan Railway Police, Leena Castelino resident of Mumbai, has lodged a complaint with police alleging that near Karmali Station in running train Netravati Express some unknown persons committed theft of one ladies hand bag containing in it two mobiles, two gold bangles, one gold chain, four ear rings, two wrist watches and cash Rs 5,000, all worth Rs 3.53 lakh.
Police said that the theft took place while the complainant was sleeping.
In the second case, one Nandana Prasad of New Delhi has lodged the complaint alleging that near Margao Railway Station in a running train some unknown persons in Mangala Express committed theft of mobiles phones and sim cards totaling worth Rs 18,000 while she was sleeping.
