PANJIM: Aarush Pawaskar, Shane D’Souza, Saanvi Audi and Ritika Chelluri stole the spotlight at the All-Goa Major Ranking Badminton Tournament, each securing double crowns in their respective categories.
The tournament organised by the Salcete Badminton Club in collaboration with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, was powered by Vision Goa and served as a crucial selection event for the upcoming U-15 and U-17 Sub Junior Nationals in Haryana this September.
The tournament held at the Manohar Parrikar Stadium, Navelim, also featured non-ranking events for the U-11 and U-13 age groups. These categories provided a platform for younger players to showcase their talents, with Avni Khyalia and Viraditya Pai Kane emerging as double crown winners in the non-ranking categories.

Other notable achievements were Ritika Chelluri making a sweep of singles sub junior titles, Arnav Saraf and Shane D’Souza winning their third U-15 doubles tournament and Shane/Sanvi Audi winning the third successive title on the trot in U-15 mixed doubles.
The tournament additionally honoured the enduring efforts of Goan badminton veterans stalwarts, Dr Satish Kudchadkar and Filipe Barbosa, recognising their outstanding achievements and dedication to the sport.
The closing ceremony was graced by chief guest Anant Agni, headmaster and writer, who delivered an inspiring keynote address to the assembled athletes and guests.
